Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is a hot topic of discussion amongst us Londoners. It often becomes a mind maze when knowing where to graze while on the go. As someone who regularly includes meat in their diet, I was a little hesitant to try out a vegetarian restaurant for lunch but I was pleasantly surprised.
Ethos on Eastcastle Street in London (tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street) strives to be innovative in its approach to food. day, they deliver creative dishes that suit many special dietary requirements including vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and refined sugar-free.
You grab a plate and help yourself to freshly prepared vegetarian-friendly dishes including tasty salads, quinoa and spreads.
Once you’ve finished loading up, you have your plate weighed before settling the bill.
On today’s menu we were treated to veggie scotch eggs, red cabbage, chickpea curry and plenty of fresh greens – to name but a few of the many dishes on offer!
There’s a wide selection of health juices, smoothies and waters on offer. I went for the cold pressed beetroot, apple and ginger lemon juice which had a real kick to it.
You do get what you pay for here – quite literally with their weigh-in system – so do be careful if you’re watching the pennies. We found it easy for your plate to start costing the same as a main dish in one of London’s top restaurants so be realistic when deciding what you want. Buffets are all too easy to get carried away with! One of Ethos’ core values is no wastage so there are takeaway boxes to hand should you not quite finish your plate!

Next up! I’m off on an adventure to the beautiful French wine region of Bordeaux. I’ll report back on some of my favourite finds – I think it’s safe to say the rosé will be flowing! I generally decide which wine to drink on a case by case basis ; )
