If you’re looking for the perfect retreat from the bustling streets of Johannesburg, look no further than the Winston Hotel.
If you didn’t have a chance to read my JHB dinner low-down at the sensational Marble, read it here. You’ve had the fabulous meal so where’s good to stay? Continuing my “24 Hours in Johannesburg” series, today’s post is all about B&B!
Tucked away on the pretty tree-lined streets of Rosebank, this beautiful 5-star boutique hotel was a real showstopper in my eyes.
From the moment you step inside the Winston, a welcomed feeling of relaxation takes over you and the memories of gridlock traffic and 35 degree heat is soon forgotten.
What strikes me about this place is its decor. It’s smart, fashionable and well put together. The owners clearly have an eye for quirky interiors which reflect their many travels and I was instantly in love, snapping every decorated corner I could find.
The hotel is built around an open, tranquil garden which boasts a swimming pool, sun loungers and pretty flowerbeds to frame the pathway.
We had a garden-facing room with a small terrace which opened out to the pool. You’re given a king-sized bed in pretty luxe surroundings. What a result!
The bathroom is fully stocked with L’Occitane products and you’re each given a Sheshwe gown for added comfort.
After you’ve checked in, there’s only the poolside cocktail list to check out!
