I can’t believe it! Nearly three months have passed since our fairytale wedding in South Africa at Babylonstoren. We’re forever looking over photos from the day and whenever a bottle of South African red is opened, it transports us right back to those sun-drenched, centuries-old vineyards set amongst the most incredible Cape Dutch architecture.
Having made the big decision to get married in South Africa after we got engaged in the same country, we began the rather daunting journey into planning our big day. I’ve worked in Public Relations for ten years and ran countless events across Europe, South Africa and the Middle East. Without a passing thought, I was convinced we could do this alone, no sweat.
As the first post in my bride-to-be series, I thought it would be fitting to give some details of how we took the major leap from carefree dating to the rather nerve-wracking step into marriage.
We were in South Africa for a friend’s wedding and as an early birthday present to me from my boyfriend, we checked into the exclusive Atlantic Tintswalo for some much needed pampering, bubbles and a sunset dinner overlooking the beautiful curve of Hout Bay.
